Dr Tracey Parker, BSc(Hons) D.Clin Psy, is a
Chartered Clinical Psychologist who graduated at Brunel University in
1998 with a first class degree in psychology and then completed a three-year
doctorate in clinical psychology at UCL. During her training she worked
as a Clinical Psychologist in a variety of settings such as adult mental
health, older adults, children, people with learning disabilities and
adults with schizophrenia. Her specialist placements were in general health,
oncology and palliative care, working for Ealing NHS and Harrow &
Hillingdon NHS Trust as well as the local hospice. After receiving her doctorate in 2002, she worked for Northwick Park Hospital, London, in the Regional Rehabilitation Unit, providing psychological therapy to patients and their families affected by brain injury. In 2004 she moved to Oxfordshire where she worked as a Clinical Health Psychologist for South Warwickshire NHS Trust and was involved in setting up a new psychology service for patients, families and carers affected by cancer and terminal illness. This also involved working closely with Macmillan Nurses, Cancer Nurse Specialists and the local hospices, providing emotional support and professional consultation in the psychological effects of cancer and palliative care. She also provided psychological therapy and support to patients attending Warwick hospital for a variety of health-related problems. In 2007 she joined The Ashcroft Clinic where she provides a range of both cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic therapies to people with health-related issues, such as health anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, coping with long-term illness (i.e. heart disease, COPD, diabetes), chronic pain, cancer, end of life issues and bereavement counselling. She is a member of the British Psychological Society and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. |
